Logic-Coating can be used to diagnose the mechanical stress on a surface. This diagnostic ability means that the coating can be used to replicate functionality traditionally provided by a strength gauge. The coating applied to the area to be analysed can have a purpose-built pathway built in which will assess the resistance of the surface as it is subjected to stress. The resulting diagnostic curve will represent the resistance of the surface in respect to the linear stress applied.

This diagnostic capacity together with the ability to generate a signal will provide a complete overview of the lifetime of a surface as it will be possible to determine the exact locations and intensity of stress and measure its mechanical effects.
